Activist

Jasvir Kaur Rababan founded Kaur Voices because she strongly believes in everyone having a voice and a space to use it. Founded on a firm belief in equality, Kaur Voices actively creates spaces for those that have been pushed out of the conversation—those whose voices have been lost due to societal beliefs and practices. Through her writing and speaking, Jasvir Kaur addresses sexual abuse and other issues that are seen as taboo and pushed under the rug or out of our day-to-day conversation. Music is her tool to create a strong psyche for her activist work in the world. Once one is equipped and strong, then the next step, according to Guru Nanak’s path, is to fight injustice. Being a Sikh of Guru Nanak, Jasvir Kaur is tackling all issues and stigmas currently present, not just within punjabi and Sikh circles, but across humanity, as Jasvir Kaur believes we are all part of large community. By equipping others with the tools to raise their spiritual consciousness, she feels one by one, we can all create a positive impact and fight all of the injustices currently present. Jasvir Kaur founded Kaur Voices in order to start this work at home and tackle many of the smaller day-to-day issues that individuals face. Kaur Voices gives a voice to the voiceless, fights for equality, and creates safe spaces for all, allowing individuals to grow from their experiences and seek help in curated safe spaces free of judgment.
